Program Overview

Educators at HWPS design programs for different ages and stages using developmentally appropriate practices as recommended by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). All programs are founded in our play-to-learn philosophy.

As the students grow and change, the program changes with them.  Younger children have a gentle start in an environment open for exploration and social opportunities alongside a caregiver. Preschool classes for three and four year olds use an inquiry-based, emergent curriculum based on the children's interests.
These programs have an emphasis on nature and place-based learning, with a great deal of outdoor learning.

We hope to provide a balanced and stimulating program for optimal development, while keeping the program flexible and fun to make your child’s preschool years a most happy part of his or her life.
